Northbridge’s girls lacrosse team stayed perfect yesterday afternoon, outlasting St. Bernard’s and pulling away for a 10-6 win. The game was competitive throughout, but the Rams found a way to create separation late and keep their unbeaten start intact.
Elly Schofer led the way with a hat trick and an assist, giving Northbridge a steady offensive spark when it needed one most. Grace Haden, Brooklyn Thibeault, and Marissa Roadman each scored two goals, showing off the depth that has made the Rams so dangerous early in the season. That balance gave Northbridge multiple scoring options and kept the Bernardians from focusing on any one threat.
Maille Fluharty was strong for St. Bernard’s in defeat, scoring four goals and adding an assist, but Northbridge had too many answers down the stretch. The Rams have now started 4-0 after last Thursday’s 15-9 win over Notre Dame, and their offense continues to look consistent from game to game.
Northbridge now turns quickly to Tantasqua tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. The Warriors are 4-3 and are coming off a 21-9 win over Notre Dame, so this should be a strong test. The Rams will need Schofer and the rest of their balanced attack to stay sharp if they want to keep the perfect record going.
