MBTA Announces Special Service for World Cup at Gillette

FRANKLIN – The MBTA is preparing for increased travel demand during the upcoming World Cup matches at Gillette Stadium, temporarily referred to as “Boston Stadium.” Officials announced plans to run 14 express trains on the Franklin/Foxboro Commuter Rail Line on match days to accommodate fans.

The MBTA is also offering an $80 roundtrip “Boston Stadium Train” ticket, which will be valid across the entire network on match days, giving riders flexibility in their travel plans. The added service is expected to make it easier for Franklin-area fans to attend matches.
