HOPEDALE – A Hopedale man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting police officers during a response early Sunday morning. Around 1 a.m., officers were called to a home on Ballou Road, where Robson De Sousa met them outside and reportedly claimed no one inside needed help.
When officers insisted on checking the home, police allege De Sousa began hitting, headbutting, and kicking officers, prompting assistance from Mendon Police. After a struggle, he was taken into custody, and several officers along with De Sousa were transported to a hospital for treatment.
