The Blackstone Valley Beavers baseball team stayed unbeaten yesterday afternoon with a polished 4-0 win over Grafton, using one big inning and strong pitching to finish the job. The game remained scoreless until the sixth, when Blackstone Valley broke through with a decisive four-run frame that completely changed the tone of the matchup.

Max Pilkington sparked the offense with two RBIs, while Jacksen Manosh turned in a shutout on the mound to keep the Gators off the board from start to finish. Grafton played well enough to keep the game close for much of the afternoon, but the Beavers made the most of their scoring chances when they finally arrived and then locked things down defensively.

The win pushes Blackstone Valley to 2-0 after its strong season-opening 15-3 victory over Sutton. In that game, Pilkington led the way with four RBIs, Will Nason added a home run and three RBIs, and Manosh helped with two hits and an RBI. That early offensive production, combined with yesterday’s shutout pitching, gives the Beavers a strong foundation.

Blackstone Valley now turns to AMSA today at 3:45 p.m. The Eagles opened their season with a tight 2-1 win over Marlborough, so the Beavers will need another sharp effort if they want to move to 3-0 and keep building momentum early in the year.
