MEDWAY – Medway’s Police Chief is responding to concerns about the town’s use of license plate reader technology.
Chief William Kingsbury says the Flock system is used strictly for locating suspects and finding missing persons—not for general surveillance. The department recently received a grant to expand the system from two cameras to eight.
In a statement issued Monday, Kingsbury acknowledged privacy concerns but said the department has strict policies and training in place to ensure the system is used appropriately.
