FRANKLIN — Police say a recent series of vehicle break-ins in town were all crimes of opportunity involving unlocked cars.
Investigators say none of the incidents involved forced entry or smashed windows. Instead, someone walked through neighborhoods checking door handles and entering vehicles that had been left unlocked.
Franklin Police say items such as wallets, electronics, and gift cards were taken from several vehicles. Officers are reminding residents to always lock their cars, even when parked in their own neighborhoods.
