HOPEDALE — A Hopkinton woman pulled over for allegedly using a cell phone while driving has been arrested on an outstanding warrant and counterfeit money charges.
A Hopedale police officer initiated the traffic stop after reportedly observing the driver using a phone behind the wheel. During the stop, the officer discovered the woman had an active warrant out of Milford.
Police say Julie Salvaggio was taken into custody and later allegedly found to be carrying counterfeit cash during a search. She was transported and is being held without bail at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility.
