The Uxbridge Spartans’ impressive playoff run ended Monday night when they met a dominant Millis Mohawks team that rolled to a 79-36 Round of 16 victory. Uxbridge entered the day as a surprise story, having beaten Immaculate Heart of Mary 59-20 and Amesbury 47-40 to reach this stage, but Millis proved to be a level above.
In the Amesbury win, Ava Rosborough led Uxbridge with 17 points, and the Spartans showed resilience and defensive toughness. Against Millis, however, Uxbridge struggled to generate consistent offense as the Mohawks pushed tempo and closed passing lanes. Ella Maher led Millis with 19 points, and the balanced Mohawks’ attack overwhelmed the Spartans on both ends of the floor.
Uxbridge’s season still offered plenty to build on, including deep playoff experience for a group with only one graduating senior. Making the Round of 16 after two playoff wins is a notable achievement, and the program will look to return stronger next year as its core gains more varsity seasoning.
