The Hopkinton Hillers girls indoor track team captured first place at the TVL Showcase last Saturday, outscoring the field with 80 points to claim the top spot among 12 participating schools. The Hillers combined depth and standout individual performances to top a competitive league meet.
Hopkinton’s B Group swept the 4×200 relay in a winning quartet of Grace Gallagher, Isabel Walker, Addie Morrissey, and Kaelyn Geremia. Isabel Walker also won the long jump with a measured leap of 15ft 07.25in, while Kaelyn Faber secured the shot put title on her final throw at 33ft 6.25in. The Hillers also finished near the top in several other events, placing second in the 55-meter, 300-meter, and high jump competitions. Freshman Sana Kandsamy added a podium finish with third in the Freshman 1-mile, clocking 6:18.39.
Hopkinton’s meet victory positions the team well heading into the MIAA D2 Championships next Wednesday in Boston, where several Hillers will represent their school on the bigger stage. The Hillers’ combination of relay strength, field-event winners and multiple top-three results underscore a program that should challenge consistently through the remainder of the indoor season and into the state championships.
