Douglas Town Preservation Society Hosts Interactive Valentine’s Day Initiative

DOUGLAS – From now through February 1, the Douglas Town Preservation Society, Inc. is holding its annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser. For a $10 donation, the nonprofit will create a heart ornament featuring the donor’s personalized message, which will be displayed on the gazebo at the Douglas Common.

Residents from anywhere are invited to purchase an ornament to honor or express love for someone, past or present. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly toward the Douglas Town Preservation Society, Inc.

According to the non-profit’s Facebook page, The Douglas Common Preservation Society is a 501(c)(3) organization meant “to preserve, maintain, and beautify the Town-owned Douglas Common”. Formed in 1997 as a volunteer-based group, the society “relies on donations for all funding of projects”.
