BLACKSTONE — The Blackstone Police Department’s comfort dog, Captain, is about to gain some calendar fame as Mr. April in the 2026 Cash for K-9’s fundraising calendar.
The calendar project was created by an Attleboro High School senior, in partnership with 848 Photography, to raise money in support of police K-9 programs. All proceeds are donated back to participating communities to help cover the costs associated with caring for and training police dogs.
Meanwhile, Blackstone Police say Captain and his handler, School Resource Officer Joseph Niemczyk, have successfully completed the third phase of Captain’s training and are now moving into the final phase, marking another milestone for the department’s comfort dog program.
