HOPKINTON — The Town of Hopkinton has received a state grant to assess how well its public spaces meet accessibility and ADA compliance standards.

Town Manager Elaine Lazarus says that through the efforts of the Hopkinton Commission on Disability, the town has been awarded a $45,792 grant from the Massachusetts Office on Disability. The funding will be used to evaluate town buildings, parks, sidewalks, and parking areas, and to identify, detail, and prioritize any corrective actions that may be needed.

Lazarus noted that the last comprehensive accessibility evaluation in Hopkinton took place in 2007 and 2008, making this the first review of its kind in more than a decade.
