Blackstone Valley’s offense poured in five goals to roll past Fitchburg-Monty Tech 5-0 in the season opener, a statement performance fueled by a huge night from Max Pilkington. Pilkington finished with four goals and an assist, staking the Beavers to an early lead and creating separation the rest of the way.

Max Krauss added a goal and two assists while Jackson Giombetti set up three scores and Ben Valenca contributed two assists, showing the depth of Blackstone Valley’s attacking options. The Beavers’ offense seems primed for a strong season with Pilkington leading the way. The balanced attack was complemented by stout goaltending: Finn Lozeau made 13 saves to register the shutout and stem any Red Raider momentum.

The Beavers will test themselves again tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. against Auburn, a squad that opened with a 7-4 victory over Mansfield and should present a stiffer challenge. Auburn’s strength and speed will examine Blackstone Valley’s defensive structure; if the Beavers can replicate their offensive balance and Lozeau’s goaltending, they’ll have a chance to climb early in the standings.
