HOPEDALE — An OUI charge has been filed against a driver Hopedale Police say left the scene of a crash into a utility pole on Dutcher Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say a witness called officers, who found a damaged pickup truck and the driver, who allegedly had the smell of alcohol emanating from him. According to police, the driver, who is from Worcester, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OUI, negligent operation, and leaving the scene.
National Grid responded to the scene to ensure there was no major structural damage to the utility pole.
