ZBA Rejects Proposed 180-Unit Apartment Development

MILFORD – The Milford Zoning Board of Appeals has denied a proposal for a 180-unit apartment complex planned for the area of East Main Street and Medway Road. The developer had revised the plans following earlier feedback and indicated that about 20% of the units would qualify as affordable housing, but the Board ultimately said no.

ZBA members cited that Milford already exceeds the 10% threshold of affordable housing stock required by the state, meaning the town is not obligated to approve additional projects under that category. According to The Daily News, many nearby residents voiced strong opposition to the development throughout the review process.

With the denial, the project cannot move forward unless significantly redesigned or refiled.
