MEDWAY – A school bus driver has been arrested after a 9-year-old child on a bicycle was struck in a crosswalk near Burke-Memorial School Tuesday morning.

Police say the accident happened around 8 a.m., but the child was not seriously hurt and did not require hospitalization after being checked by paramedics and parents at the scene.

According to Medway Police, the bus driver was arrested for disorderly conduct based on his behavior toward police and school staff following the incident.

Burke-Memorial Principal confirmed that the driver is employed by W.T. Holmes Transportation, the district’s bus contractor, and not a Medway Public Schools employee.
