HOPKINTON – The Hopkinton Police Department has shared how it will use a $35,000 Municipal Road Safety Grant to improve traffic safety across town.
The funding, part of the state’s Municipal Road Safety Grant Program, is designed to help local police departments address key community traffic concerns.
According to the Town Manager, about $3,500 of the grant will go toward purchasing a new radar sign that displays driver speeds. The remaining $31,500 will fund overtime patrols focused on enforcing traffic laws and addressing issues such as impaired driving, distracted driving, and speeding.
