Nipmuc’s girls soccer squad closed the regular season unbeaten, posting a remarkable 17-0-1 mark and entering the postseason with serious championship credentials. The Warriors have followed up last year’s stellar 17-1-1 campaign, which culminated in a D3 championship over Medfield, with another dominant run this fall.

Nipmuc rattled off 14 straight wins and recorded 10 shutouts during the stretch; their lone blemish was a 1-1 tie with Weston. In the finale, Nipmuc blanked Nashoba Regional 5-0, with Anya Montano and Kenzie Ellis each netting goals while Cate Tengler produced a hat trick. Goalkeeper Caylee Smith added another shutout to her resume, showcasing the team’s balance on both ends of the pitch.

The Warriors now hold the No. 2 seed in D3 behind Medfield and will await their preliminary-round opponent. Given their form, Nipmuc will be favored in any matchup and enters the bracket as one of the top championship contenders alongside an always-dangerous Medfield program.

As the postseason approaches, Nipmuc will aim to convert regular-season dominance into postseason hardware, leaning on its potent attack, stingy defense and steady goalkeeping to make a sustained run.
