Nipmuc’s girls volleyball squad suffered a tough loss against a strong Wachusett team on Wednesday night, but responded impressively in its quick turnaround, dominating Whitinsville Christian in the next outing.

Against Wachusett, the Warriors split the early frames, trading the first two sets in a back-and-forth start. The third set proved problematic for Nipmuc, which dropped that stanza 25-8 as Wachusett stars took control. The match went to a decisive fourth frame, where the Mountaineers closed it out 25-22 to hand Nipmuc a narrow defeat.

Not content to dwell on the loss, Nipmuc then faced Whitinsville the following night and delivered a strong response, sweeping the Crusaders 3-0. The Warriors won the opening set decisively (24-5), then closed out two tighter sets at 25-18 and 25-23 to seal the victory. The result was a meaningful bounce-back against quality competition late in the season.

With that win, Nipmuc will carry momentum into the playoffs as it looks to sharpen execution and build on its favorable positioning. The Warriors currently sit at No. 3 in D4 volleyball behind East Bridgewater and Bourne, and their late-season form should make them a tough out in the bracket.
