WESTBOROUGH – Town Meeting voters have rejected a proposal to spend $800,000 to repair the Community Center pool.

Officials had said the pool required upgrades to its liner, fittings, filtration, and HVAC systems, and that the town would need to hire a certified operator — a role that was expected to be contracted out.

According to the Community Advocate, the article was voted down 205 to 132. Many residents who opposed the measure said they believed the money could be better used for other priorities, such as construction of the new Senior Center.
