The Franklin Panthers volleyball squad faced Sharon last night and continued a dominant season, improving to 17-2 and holding the No. 5 seed in D1 volleyball. Franklin has won 12 straight matches, and ten of those wins came via shutouts as the Panthers have steamrolled much of their competition.

Franklin’s most recent run included 3-0 shutout wins over Taunton, Attleboro, and Milford. The Panthers handled Milford decisively (25-12, 25-10, 25-23), with the third set the only stanza that proved competitive. Against Sharon, the Panthers were similarly dominant, closing out the Eagles in straight sets.

Sophomore Emerson Delleo posted a balanced stat line with 12 digs, 10 kills, and an ace. Phoebe O’Connor facilitated the offense effectively, finishing with 40 assists and an outstanding 13.3 assists/serve ratio. Franklin’s balanced attack and relentless pressure forced errors and left Sharon with few answers.

As the postseason approaches, the Panthers will be viewed as a serious threat; their depth and recent form make them a tough matchup for any D1 opponent. Franklin will continue to prepare for the playoffs with the confidence of a team that has been firing on all cylinders.
