Milford Man Charged After Allegedly Threatening Police with Knife

MILFORD – A Milford man is in custody after allegedly threatening police officers with a large kitchen knife during a well-being check Monday night.

According to Milford Police, the Family Services Unit was called to a home on Congress Street to check on the man’s welfare. When officers entered the home to speak with him, they say he accused them of being there to kill him before running into the kitchen.

Officers and a unit clinician followed him, where he allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill them. Police were able to de-escalate the situation and take the man into custody without injury.

He has been charged with assault with intent to murder.
