CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS – Three United Way chapters in Central Massachusetts have received more than $1 million to strengthen local after-school programs.
According to the Worcester Business Journal, the United Ways of Central Massachusetts, North Central Massachusetts, and South Central Massachusetts received the grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The funding will support K–12 after-school initiatives focused on STEM, leadership development, and other enrichment opportunities.
The president and CEO of the United Way of Central Massachusetts said opportunities for youth are “the foundation of community resilience and long-term economic strength.”
