MILFORD – Milford’s police chief is urging parents to take action following two recent e-bike crashes involving teenagers.

Chief Robert Tusino says many kids are modifying e-bikes to exceed the legal speed limit of 20 miles per hour, creating serious safety risks. On Wednesday, a 15-year-old was injured after riding into traffic downtown on a modified bike.

Tusino says police received dozens of complaints over the summer about reckless e-bike riders, warning that higher speeds make crashes much more dangerous.
