NORTH GRAFTON – A longtime North Grafton business owner is stepping away after more than four decades.

Edward Whiterell, who has operated the Post Office Pub for 46 years, has announced his retirement and confirmed the sale of the restaurant.

In a social media post this week, Whiterell thanked the community and his staff for their support over the years.

The Worcester Business Journal reports the transition was not unexpected, as the alcoholic beverage license was approved for transfer last spring to the new owners, the Helia Group.
