As children return to school, many of them reflect on their exciting summer adventures. Kids from Hopedale can attest to this, as last June’s Ninth Annual Friends of Historic Hopedale Fairy Walk was the place to be for kids and grown-ups alike.
Hosted every June at the Hopedale Parklands, event volunteers transform the park into an enchanted forest, where families can explore magical homes and meet whimsical characters played by performers. The Fairy Walk also includes several food trucks, live performances featuring animals & actors, and other fun activities for kids.
According to the Organization President Tracey Phillips, via an interview with the Hopedale Town News, the event was a massive success despite concerns with weather.
“This was our ninth year, and we had about 40 houses built for the walk this year” said Phillips. “A great turnout despite the sprinkles the first half of the day. Nothing stops our fairies and magical fans from visiting”.
While the total number of patrons were not confirmed, Phillips admitted that she got “choked up” when a monsoon of visitors arrived for the opening despite weather concerns.
“Seeing you all, kids to adults, show up and interact with each other and enjoy each other’s company and find likeminded souls, it is amazing” stated Phillips.
Next year’s Fairy Walk has been confirmed for June 13th, 2026 at the Hopedale Parklands. The Friends of Historic Hopedale, a local non-profit dedicated to “historic preservation, charitable giving, and community philanthropic & educational purposes”, also confirmed their Winter Stroll & Shop Hop on December 6th. Businesses that are interested in sponsoring this event are recommended to contact [email protected] by mid-October.
