Blackstone Valley and Tri-County Vocational Regional Technical Schools are getting grants from the state to help bolster training for adults in high-demand occupations in several trades as well as construction and manufacturing. The Governor’s Office says Blackstone Valley will get about $1 million to train 100 people studying electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, welding, and advanced manufacturing. Tri-County will get about $884,000 to train 150 people in HVAC and the culinary arts. Several local businesses will benefit through partnerships with the schools to help the students find work.
