A Hopkinton man is heading to prison for about a year after pleading guilty to federal conspiracy and fraud charges. Ronaldo Solano, who ran a roofing and construction company in Framingham, was sentenced Monday. The Hopkinton Independent reports Solano pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud with prosecutors saying for about eight years before 2020 he defrauded workers compensation carriers by underreporting payroll and then in 2021 used a pandemic Economic Injury Disaster Loan intended for his business to place a downpayment on a home. His wife Adriana was sentenced to time served. They have to repay about $2.4 million.
