Franklin Legion baseball faced off against North Attleboro last night in a big game for both Division 6 squads. Franklin had been on a hot streak, after going through a rough path earlier in the season, and were riding a three game win streak. In their second most recent victory, Franklin defeated Sharon 4-0 after a dominant pitching performance from Austin Campbell who went six innings giving up just two hits, zero runs and striking out thirteen batters. Justin Tremblay was lights out in relief going one inning with a strikeout and zero runs to close the door. In their matchup with North Attleboro last night, Franklin faced an uphill battle. North Attleboro is the class of Division 6 legion, owning the first seed with an impressive 9-1 record and three straight wins going into their matchup last night. Despite North Attleboro’s status, they were unable to get the job done against the surging Franklin. Franklin shocked the No. 1 seed last night, winning 5-1 in a confident victory for Franklin. First baseman Patrick Luizzi was the star of the game, having a dominant performance, contributing three RBIS. Franklin will look to get back into the win column tomorrow night against Natick at 7 PM at home. Franklin and Natick are close to each other in the standings so this will be a consequential home game for Franklin to make a run at the top five teams in the division.
