Medfield senior Michael O’Reilly closed his high school career with a dominant spring track and field season, capped by major postseason accomplishments. A standout in both discus and shot put, O’Reilly had a strong indoor campaign, placing third in shot at the Division 4 Championships. However, it was the outdoor season where he truly broke through. O’Reilly won the D4 title in discus, establishing himself as one of the premier throwers in the state. He followed that performance with second-place finishes at both the MIAA Meet of Champions and the New England Championships. Those results cemented O’Reilly’s place among the elite discus athletes in Massachusetts. He steadily improved throughout his career, finishing 14th in the D4 State Championship meet last spring before making his leap this season. O’Reilly’s work ethic and steady improvement made him a leader for Medfield’s throwing unit, and his postseason results speak for themselves. As his time with the Warriors comes to a close, he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and has set the bar high for Medfield’s future throwers.
