SHREWSBURY — CMF Basketball is preparing to host the Michael F. Ferreer Memorial Columbus Day 3-on-3 Challenge Tournament on Monday, Oct. 12 at Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury.
The tournament will begin at 2 p.m., with teams guaranteed games featuring a minimum of 14 minutes of running time. Registration costs $135 for a three-player team or $160 for a four-player team.
Seven divisions are planned, including boys grades 3-4, boys grades 5-6, boys grades 7-8, high school boys, girls grades 5-6, girls grades 7-8 and high school girls. Winners in each division will receive windbreakers.
The event is being held in memory of Michael F. Ferreer, with proceeds benefiting Saint John’s High School in his honor as well as a CMF Basketball family whose child is currently fighting cancer.
Those who are unable to participate can also support the fundraiser through donations, with suggested amounts of $20, $30 or $40, though other donation amounts are welcome.

The memorial tournament is designed to bring the Central Massachusetts basketball community together for an afternoon of competition while supporting local families and honoring Ferreer’s memory.
