Milford Post 59 kept its strong start going with two impressive victories over the weekend. In Sunday night’s showdown at Holy Cross Fitton Field, Milford took down Shrewsbury 8-2 in a game that was tied entering the sixth. Post 59 erupted for five runs in that frame and added one more in the seventh to secure the win. Earlier in the weekend, Milford dominated Northbridge 14-0 on the road. The game was all Milford from the start, with two early runs followed by consistent pressure. Eight different batters drove in runs, highlighting the team’s offensive depth. Center fielder Nick Koch led the charge with a home run and two RBIs, while shortstop Sam Schoenberg added a 3-for-5 performance, including a double and two runs. On the mound, Tyler Ballard turned in a gem, tossing six shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out seven. Milford’s bats are alive and well, and the pitching has followed suit, making this team an early contender. This is Milford’s fifth win in a row, bringing their regular season record to a perfect 5-0. They’ll have a quick turnaround to face off against Northborough tonight.
