Sentencing has been set for June 18 for a former Hopkinton police officer found guilty on Friday in connection to sexual encounters he had with a student when he was a school resource officer 20 years ago. On Friday a jury found John Porter guilty of three counts of child rape following a three-day trial. The judge revoked his bail and ordered him to stay in custody until he is sentenced. Porter, who had pleaded not guilty, did not testify. Porter had been with the Hopkinton Police Department for more than 30 years.
