On Wednesday at Fino Field in Milford, the Hopedale Blue Raiders baseball team picked up a 6-3 win over Carver to advance to the Division 5 quarterfinals. Hopedale took control early, scoring five runs over the first four innings and never relinquishing its lead. Nathan Montville was Hopedale’s standout star. He delivered a 2-for-4 performance with two RBIs, three runs scored, and an impressive four stolen bases. Montville’s ability to create havoc on the basepaths set the tone, putting pressure on Carver’s infield defense. Brayden Lewis, Avery Miller, Aiden Capello, and Nolan Murray each scored two runs, showcasing the team’s depth and balanced lineup. On the mound, Hopedale’s starting pitcher worked through traffic in the middle innings but was effective at limiting Carver to just three runs, all of which were earned. Hopedale’s defense supported him with routine plays, turning ground balls into outs and preserving the lead. Carver, which entered after a tight 4-2 win over Mystic Valley Regional, showed flashes of competitiveness but couldn’t match Hopedale’s offensive firepower. Now 15-7 on the season, the Blue Raiders will face No. 5 Ware High, who enters with an 18-2 record, on the road. Ware has outscored its opponents 16-3 in the playoffs and will present Hopedale with its toughest challenge yet. Hopedale’s quarterfinal game is set for 4 PM on Tuesday at Ware High School, and a win would mark a signature victory for the Raiders’ season.
