The Whitinsville Christian girls’ track and field team had a strong showing at the Division 5 State Championships, highlighted by individual wins and relay dominance. The Crusaders made their mark with multiple top-five finishes and now shift their focus to the MIAA Meet of Champions. Emily Flagg starred in the distance events, placing fifth in the mile and comfortably winning the two-mile with a time of 11:14.43. She also played a key role in the 4×800 relay team that took home the state title. Flagg, along with Emma Wierenga, Josephina Dyke, and Bella Aloise, powered the squad to first place with a 10:04.68 finish. Wierenga also added a third-place finish in the 800M to her impressive postseason. The Crusaders showed off their range across events, combining depth and top-tier talent to finish near the top in several races. Whitinsville now turns its attention to the Meet of Champions at Fitchburg State’s Elliot Field. The competition runs through Saturday, and the Crusaders will look to extend their winning ways on a bigger stage.
