The Bellingham girls’ track team put together a season to remember, earning its first-ever Tri-Valley League Championship in program history. It marked a milestone 46 years in the making, as the Blackhawks capped off a dominant regular season with a historic league title. Much of Bellingham’s success this season stemmed from consistent standout performances, none more impactful than those from Olivia Carney. The elite sprinter holds school records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races and continued her dominance in the postseason. After helping lead Bellingham to the TVL crown, she made her mark at the MIAA Division 5 State Championships. Carney took home the title in the 100M dash, winning the event with an electric 12.54 finish. She also finished third in the 200M dash, proving she could shine on a state level. Bellingham added to its medal count in the 4×100 relay, taking third place overall and showing off their impressive sprinting depth. The Blackhawks can now celebrate a historic season that included record-breaking performances and postseason accolades, with a strong foundation for continued success.
