Sad news as the mother of a 5-year-old girl who was killed in a car accident in Franklin on May 24 has also died. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Franklin Police have confirmed that Minaben Patel died in the hospital where she’d been since the accident. Her 14-year-old son remains in the hospital; his current condition is not known. The SAFE coalition says a vigil for Minaben Patel will be held tomorrow at 6pm at the crash site on Grove Street. The man accused of drunk driving and several other charges in the crash, James Blanchard, is being held on $250,000 bail. He has pleaded not guilty.
