Bellingham State Representative Michael Soter is reportedly considering a run for a statewide office in 2026. The Boston Herald reports Soter is mulling a possible campaign for the U.S. Senate against Ed Markey or possibly a run for lieutenant governor or treasurer. Soter tells the paper he has been discussing it with his family as well as supporters and strategists and hopes to make a decision by summer. Soter is currently in his fourth term at the State House. He represents the 8th Worcester District which includes Bellingham, Blackstone, Medway, Millville and Uxbridge.
