Hopedale is holding a Special Town Meeting on Tuesday February 11 for a single article. The Select Board decided this week to hold the meeting to ask voters if the town should buy about an acre of land with frontage on both Mendon Street and Hopedale Street which they say would give the Town better control over future development. They are still working on what it would cost and say they will have that ready in time for the meeting. February 11 is also a Special Town Election to approve money for a new roof for the Junior-Senior High School which was approved at a November Special Town Meeting.
