The Hopkinton Conservation Commission has approved a 5-year plan for managing plants and weeds around town and it includes some herbicides. The Commission unanimously approved the plan developed by the town Department of Public Works and blessed by the state Department of Agricultural Resources. The Hopkinton Independent reports the plan has specific ways, and places, in which herbicides can and can’t be used and they will mostly be used downtown where it’s difficult to weed mechanically.
