Hopkinton is joining in with other towns to work with a clinician who helps those battling mental health issues to get help instead of jail time. The Town Manager says Hopkinton, Holliston, and Sherborn are all sharing time with a Jail Diversion Program Co-Response Clinician who rides with police officers in cruisers and responds directly to calls for service. Clinician Lyan Albino will assist in on-scene de-escalation, assessment of mental status, conducting evaluations and making recommendations for care.
