By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Some Burke-Memorial Elementary students have learned first-hand the true meaning of “Farm to Table.” This week the school’s second and third-graders celebrated Harvest Day by running their own farmstand with produce they grew at school. Officials say since September the kids have been growing and harvesting radishes, lettuce, bok choy, kohlrabi, and kale in raised beds in a partnership with Medway Community Farm. The Harvest Day Market had them selling their goods to their parents and other guests. Most of the veggies sold out and those that did not are being donated to food banks.
