By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Franklin has extended the outdoor burn ban until at least Friday November 22. Franklin Fire Chief James McLaughlin says with outdoor fuel sources extremely dry and no meaningful rain on the horizon, any outdoor fire is likely to spread quickly and become difficult to control. Chief McLaughlin calls it an unprecedented fall fire season in Massachusetts: the state averages 15 to 20 fires a month in October and November but this year there have been more than 500 fires since October 1.
