By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – A new report shows the Boston Marathon has a half-billion-dollar impact on the Massachusetts economy. The Boston Athletic Association and Meet Boston have released an independent economic impact report conducted by the Economic and Public Policy Research group at the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute. They say the $509 million impact shows the Marathon is a powerful driver for several sectors like retail, food and beverage, and lodging. In addition, in 2024 the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program raised a record $45.7 million for 160 organizations.
