By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Hopkinton Select Board has commended Police Chief Joseph Bennet for the strides his department has taken in increasing community engagement. This week the Board held a performance review for Bennett. The Hopkinton Independent reports Bennet said he learned in the past two years that the public likes to be in the loop and the social media team has worked with officers to show more “behind the scenes”. He says more officers have shown interest in being more involved such as their “Operation Sweet Rewards” which gives ice cream vouchers to kids caught doing something good.
