By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Franklin Fire Department has been awarded a nearly $595,000 grant from FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. Franklin fire officials say the money will be used for training as well as upgrades to both of Franklin’s Fire Station vehicle exhaust capture systems. The Franklin Observer reports Franklin’s is the second largest in Massachusetts from FEMA in this grant cycle; the Foxborough Fire Department received $680,000 which FEMA says will be used for operations and safety programs.
