Hopkinton Police Chief Retains Position Despite Performance Concerns

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton’s Police Chief is still in place following a Select Board meeting last night that was to include a discussion of placing him on Administrative Leave. Last week at Joseph Bennett’s midyear review the Board Chair expressed numerous concerns about his performance over the past few years including the recent accidental public release of a sexual assault victim’s name. Hop News reports that they opted to take no action, in part because it was pointed out that his absence could jeopardize Boston Marathon security.
