Yvette G. (Thomas) McLaughlin, 82, of Milford

Mrs. Yvette G. (Thomas) McLaughlin, 82, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Friday (February 2, 2024) in St. George Utah while visiting her daughter. She was the beloved wife of the late David A. McLaughlin who died in 1995.

Yvette was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Alfred J. Thomas and the late Loranna L. (Mailhoit) Thomas. She attended schools in Boston as a young girl.

Yvette spent her early years raising her family as a devoted housewife & mother. Later in life she had been employed as a secretary at various companies in the Boston area, and was most proud of working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston MA until her retirement.

Her family was the most important thing to Yvette and she was devoted to her Roman Catholic faith. She also loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to the casino.

Yvette is survived by her 3 children: Bettyann Scott of St. George Utah, Lynne Normile and her husband Joseph Normile of Milford MA and David McLaughlin of CT;  her 6 grandchildren: Andrew Normile of Milford MA, Nicholas Normile of Milford MA, Olivia Normile of Milford MA, David Maradiaga of Whitinsville MA, Alicia Maradiaga of RI and Devin McLaughlin of St George UT; her great grandson: William J. Scott of Desert Hot Springs CA; her 2 siblings: Linda White of Oxon Hill MD and William Thomas of Marshfield MA; also several nieces & nephews.

Yvette was the grandmother of the late William James Scott, who died in 2016.

Her funeral will be held SATURDAY (February 10th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. According to her wishes cremation will follow her Funeral Mass and a Private Graveside Committal Service will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury MA at the convenience of the family. A visiting hour will be held SATURDAY (February 10th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
