
1936 - 2026
Born in Roslindale on September 4, 1936, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Bingham) Caton. William had been a resident of Medway for 53 years.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years as part of the 3rd Armored Division, 7th Tank Battalion. Following his service, he built a long career as a letter carrier in the town of Needham, where he worked for 30 years.
William was deeply involved in his community. He enjoyed spending time at the Medway Senior Center, where he especially loved playing cards. He also served on the Council on Aging and volunteered for many years at Medway town elections and at St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Maryann Vautrinot and her husband Thomas of Plympton; his sons, Paul and Ralph Caton, both of Medway; his grandchildren Laura, Julia, and Erica; and his great-grandson Declan. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Moran of Mansfield.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Anna Twiss and John Caton.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway.
Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery, Oakland Street, Medway.
