William F. Reardon, 93, of Medway
1932 - 2026

He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Milford and went on to attend the College of the Holy Cross. Bill later trained at Naval Flight School in Pensacola, Florida, where he served on active duty from 1954 to 1957 and continued in the reserves into the early 1960s. While in Pensacola, he met the love of his life, Bettye Cox. They were married in 1956 and shared nearly 63 years together before her passing in 2019.

Bill is survived by his children: John Reardon and his wife Janet of Wareham; William Reardon and his wife Diane of Medway; James Reardon and his wife Katherine of Natick; Caroline Anderson of Wareham; and Matthew Reardon and his wife Danielle Burdo of Millis. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Reardon of Barnstable.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Caroline Wilson; his brothers John, Edward, and Robert; his sister-in-law Ann Doherty; his sister-in-law Thomasina Dexter; his sister-in-law Eileen Lynch; and his son-in-law Sean Anderson.

Bill had a long and successful professional career. He owned and operated Yarnspun, a textile spinning company in Medway, from the 1960s through the 1980s. He later founded Appraisal Management, where he prepared residential and commercial appraisals from the mid-1980s through the late 1990s. Bill also served his community as a member of the board of directors and as president of the Charles River Bank, formerly the Medway Cooperative Bank.

A dedicated member of St. Joseph Parish, Bill volunteered as a CCD teacher, chaperoned CYO ski trips, and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bill had a lifelong passion for aviation. As a multi-rated flight instructor, he taught numerous students and was a founding member of the Medway Flying Club, originally based at Norfolk Airport. He continued flying and maintained his pilot’s license well into his 80s.

He also enjoyed an active lifestyle, including alpine skiing as a member of the Golden Gliders Ski Club. Bill and Bettye spent many winters in North Conway, New Hampshire, skiing and socializing with friends. He also loved boating, organizing trips around Buzzards Bay, to the Chart Room, and to Martha’s Vineyard. He was an enthusiastic golfer who enjoyed sharing tips and lessons with others.

Travel was another passion he shared with Bettye, taking many cruises and trips throughout Europe and across the United States.

Bill loved bringing people together. With Bettye by his side, he hosted countless gatherings—whether spontaneous cookouts or elegant dinners—at their home in Medway, their cottage at Hamilton Beach, and their condo in North Conway. Holidays, birthdays, reunions, and simple get-togethers were filled with laughter, warmth, and lasting memories.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Monday, April 27 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway.
